On time, no regrets...and visitors from Iceland
Must say time is a weird phenomenon. I felt I had so much time three weeks ago but it has just flown by and now I only have one week left in Scotland (for now). I wish I could use Edith Piaf’s words and say that I have no regrets but I do have a few. Opportunities not ceased but hey, there will be other opportunities.
My mother and my daughter arrived on Friday. I picked them up in Glasgow in my soon to be ex-car, the fabulous Fiat Punto, and we managed everything safely. Weather was great both Friday and Saturday, sunny but cold which was good because we drove up to the Kingdom of Fife yesterday and it was gorgeous. Today we went to Roslin to see Rosslyn Chapel (the one mentioned in the over rated Da Vinci Code). The chapel is a magnificent work of art and craftsmanship and most interesting to see carvings of corn and cactus in a Scottish chapel built before Columbus even discovered America
Anyway Óðinn wasn’t all that impressed and asked if we could go to IKEA instead. It just so happens one must pass IKEA on the way to Roslin or at least via the route we took. We didn’t go to IKEA today but we went to Fort Kinnaird and ate late lunch before we browsed a few stores and ended up in Borders having Starbucks coffee before buying a few books and things. When we got back home Unnur and I headed to Sigga Dóra and Lína and we picked up a duvet I had forgotten I had and a travel cot which I must return to its rightful owner. The cot I borrowed in July when Edda Lára and her son came to visit. Cough cough. Hehe.
Reason I’m blogging in English?! Well since I’m moving back home some of my friends from around here might stop by my blog if they could understand what I write So here goes…
