Connection

Finally, I have a telephone landline connected to my house so it's possible to call me :) I am however still waiting for the ADSL which was more important for me to have. I ordered these services on 31st of January, early enough (or so I thought) to be connected at my arrival in Iceland. My communication with the respective company has at times reminded me of stories from my friends in Edinburgh and their communication with BT and the wonderful call centres in India. But all the people I spoke to at Vodafone spoke perfect Icelandic and all promised the same thing, for some reason I still do not have an ADSL connection at my home 17 days later even though according to the company it is supposed to take 7-10 days. Fingers crossed that I'll be online from my home Monday.

I start my new job on Monday. My boss and I decided it would be best I'd only do part time the first week while settling in to allow me space to complete my unpacking and so on. It is all going pretty well and I'm finally sleeping properly again since my stuff arrived Thursday.

I have a bit of an urge to go shopping in Edinburgh but I guess it must wait until July :( I´ve been grocery shopping a couple of times and it's pretty expensive and I shopped at the cheap stores!!

But all in all I'm content, Óðinn is thrilled at being in Hlíðaskóli and finds school in Iceland easier than Edinburgh. They have more recesses and are allowed to go out and play even though there is snow or rain :) (these are his comments). He did ask me why he had to go to school while it was still dark in the morning (",).

It would be nice to get some comments from people to see who is checking this site, but I understand some are shy ;)

Cheers!
