Flutt
Submitted by khh on 18 June, 2007 - 09:51I have now moved across the street. Hope to be connected soon to my broadband server but at least the phone is working already. Óðinn and I agree that we really really like the new flat so do the few who have already been to see it. Feels like home.
Weird life
Submitted by khh on 9 June, 2007 - 00:53I always find it so weird when people pretend they never said things they said or promised. Anyway I'm in a bit of a pickle about my upcoming vacation in Scotland although I have options and a few days sorted and I'm hopeful that it will all go the way it's supposed to.
Good news is I got a phone call today from the National Lottery (I have a subscription) and I just won a free year to World Class which is the most popular fitness centre in Iceland. Probably worth about 400 pounds (50.000 ISK) and money I would never have spent myself but going to the gym will do me good.
Anyway a week until I move and four weeks until I go to Edinburgh and for the next three weeks I'm alone at the office doing everything so not the most relaxing times coming up. But hopefully these four weeks will be followed up by a nice time in Ed. I'm sure it will be a nice time.
Interesting seminar
Submitted by khh on 2 June, 2007 - 22:23Friends of mine invited me to a seminar this weekend. My friend's husband is all into stress and time management and positive thinking and so is holding seminars on that subject. This one is called You are what you think! Very interesting. Is about setting goals, thinking positively about oneself and one's future and working towards getting what one wants and all without too much stress obviously :) Had to write my future vision - as in where I see myself in 10 years - Imagination is everything, it's life's preview of coming attractions - Right!? My friend's husband, Guðjón Bergmann, has written books amongst them this one. And he has this website.
Back from Copenhagen
Submitted by khh on 25 May, 2007 - 20:00Copenhagen was lovely, conference was great and it was actually summer there. What is going on in Iceland with the weather is beyond my comprehension. But I've got summer in my heart and a smile on my face and life is good.
Köben næst / up next Copenhagen
Submitted by khh on 5 May, 2007 - 22:25Ferðin til Edinborgar var mega næs en nú er allt á fullu - vinnan og yfirferð verkefna hjá nemendum. Svo eftir rúmar tvær vikur fer ég til Köben á ráðstefnuna, í millitíðinni ætla ég að kjósa, horfa á Eurovision (ef ég nenni), eigi afmæli ásamt pabba og bróður hans, halda upp á afmæli sonarins, klára að skila inn einkunnum til HÍ og bara heilt yfir njóta lífsins þegar færi gefst.
Trip to Edinburgh was very nice but now it's back to business - both work and grading assignments. In just over two weeks I'll go to a conference in Copenhagen on Learning in the workplace but until then I'm going to vote, watch Eurovision (perhaps), celebrate my birthday and my dad's, celebrate my son's birthday, hand in grades to UofI and when possible enjoy life.
- News Update -
Submitted by khh on 21 April, 2007 - 22:49Right, I couldn't overcome my "home"sickness and booked a flight to Edinburgh later this week for a long weekend. Mostly because even though I will be going to Ed in July it's only for my graduation and I suspect most of my friends will be away on summer holiday. My causin is coming with me in July and we are going onwards to London after the graduation and hopefully to Rome as well. My graduation celebration :)
I'm also going to Copenhagen late May for a (hopefully) really interesting conference :) Very related to my work and my studies so pretty pleased woman here.
Government Elections in Iceland are coming up, they will be on the 12th of May which happens to be both my dad's birthday and mine and Eurovision as well. Not that Eurovision is such a big deal but I usually watch it anyway this year I'm guessing the elections will be more interesting. Too bad I don't find any of the parties worth voting for. But I'll pick one at the end I always do.
PostEaster
Submitted by khh on 9 April, 2007 - 22:13It's been a really good break which was really needed after a hectic time with the confirmation and moving etc. Thursday night I went with my parents, sister and brother-in-law to see a show which was okey nothing more. Long Friday was spent helping my sister move, I also had coffee with my cousin and then returned to my sister's where we BBQ'd and it was really really nice. I had a dinner invite on Saturday and Sunday as well. Saturday at Edda Lara and Halli's and Sunday at my mum's. It was only my mum, Óðinn and I at my mum's and we had a nice time. We played board games and had the traditional Easter Lamb. It's been soooo long since I've played board games (Elfur I need you back). Afterwards I went downtown with my cousin to have drinks (mine non-alcoholic of course) and I stayed up until after 3 am. So today I went back to my mum's where Óðinn had spent the night and ended up sleeping on the sofa for 2 hours. Good to be able to relax but I also look forward to returning to work and routine days.
...and now to something completely different
Submitted by khh on 15 March, 2007 - 10:24My son and I watched a movie from my Monty Python collection last weekend and I was surprised at how much he enjoyed the sketches. His favourite was about the man who came up with the funniest joke in the world and died from laughter.

It's been just over a month since I moved back and it almost feels as if I've not been away. I'm glad to discover that I still have moments where I miss Edinburgh very much but I'm also glad that I'm happy being here. One must make the most of every situation, right!? Look forward to visiting my lovely friends in the summer.
Anyway, feel like I have got nothing to say. Don't think it matters, haven't exactly got all that many hits on the page. Got ideas about changes I want to make to the page and hope I'll soon find the time for them. Btw. Nairn's Oatcakes are delicious. Why are they not available in stores in Iceland?!
