Þetta ár hefur gjörsamlega flogið áfram enda endalaust nóg um að vera. Eftir pínu erfiða byrjun á árinu þá tók við ofboðslega góður tími. Ferð til Kanada í maí með Unni minni yndislegustu var mjög góð, við nutum Toronto og fórum í dagsferð og litum á fossana miklu. Niagara falls.Versluðum mikið og áttum gæðastundir saman, nauðsynlegt á vorin þar sem hún hélt svo austur á Klaustur þar sem hún hefur unnið við afgreiðslustörf í Skaftárskála í sumar. Duglega stelpan.

Svo fékk ég þá flugu í höfuðið að sækja loks um nám sem mig hefur langað í alveg síðan ég kom heim að utan. MPM heitir það og er kennt við Endurmenntun HÍ en tilheyrir verk- og raun. MPM stendur fyrir Master in Project Management og er kennt meðfram vinnu. Verður strembið en án vafa skemmtilegt.

Þegar ég fór svo í sumarfrí þann 10. júlí skelltum við Óðinn okkur til Edinborgar en við skiptum á íbúð við fólk þar. Íbúð og bíl. Ofboðslega sniðugt. Við vorum þar í tvær vikur og áttum stórgóðar stundir með vinum okkar þar. Gengum mikið og versluðum MIKIÐ. Öll fjölskyldan ætti því að vera vel klædd í vetur. 

Þá stefni ég á þriðju helgarferðina norður yfir heiðar nú um verslunarmannahelgina.

Fer svo að vinna aftur í næstu viku og hlakka talsvert til. Sigga Dóra elskulegust fer að vinna í grenndinni svo ég sé nú fram á einhverja lönsja með henni svo kemur Unnur mín í bæinn eftir tæpan mánuð og hlakka ég mikið til að knúsa hana. Óðinn hefur verið hjá mér mikið í sumar en er nú farin í frí til pabba síns og verður hjá honum næstu vikurnar. Því ætla ég að nota tækifærið og halda áfram að dytta að hér heima. Losa út dót sem börnin eru vaxin upp úr og svo framvegis.

Have haggis, neeps, and tatties coming out of my ears.
Had a great night dancing Scottish dances as well as eating too much. Will be repeated again next year.

The stepson of my supervisor at Napier has gone missing, the article is the description of her husband's experience with Social Networks in the search for the missing son.

I never imagined I'd be so thrilled about anything Icelandair does as I think they are extertionists that for decades had monopoly position when it came to flying to and from Iceland. However, in recent years other airlines (Iceland Express in particular) have started flying to similar destinations as Icelandair so prices have gone down.

Except - Icelandair is still the only one flying to Glasgow and unfortunately it's still impossible to get a return ticket under 200 pounds it seems. BUT the reason why I'm soooo happy is they've now introduced that they are FINALLY going to fly to and from Glasgow late in the afternoon on Sundays instead of the ungodly hours in the morning. Until the first of November travellers leaving from Glasgow Airport will still have to leave at 11am (means you leave at 7.45 from Iceland) so if wanting a long weekend the whole of Sunday is completely lost.

Now (ta da) they will leave Iceland at 5.30pm and Glasgow at 8.35pm. This means my intended Scotland autumn trip will definately be set so I don't leave Glasgow until after the 1st of Nov.

Also for all of my friends in Scotland who intend to come visit your loooong weekend will be longer as well :) so all you need to do is book the flights (accommodation is on me)!

The again! bit in the title refers to them finally allowing people to buy "cheap" one-way ticekts to/from their destinations.

Yes it's yet another Friday but this time it will be followed by a three day weekend since Monday is a Commerce Holiday in Iceland. I have no plans for the weekend other than to just take it easy and maybe go swimming with my son and meet up with a couple of friends (Elfur for instance who just moved back from Oslo, Norway). I can never be bothered to go anywhere (forecast for the weekend is miserable anyway (dreich as the Scots would say)).

I just spoke to a friend online who told me there was a fire on Princes Street today - see BBC and EveningNews. Always the old houses that catch fire, reminds me of the fire downtown Reykjavik just this spring see MBL mind you it's in Icelandic :)

My dear friend Helga Rós and her partner Jónas had twins on the 2nd of August. When I heard she was pregnant with them I declared immediately that I believed them to be boy and a girl (saw an image of her with pink and blue for some reason) but the whole pregnancy she never revealed anything about the genders. Now they are born and one of them is indeed a boy and the other one a girl :) Both big, strong and healthy. Can't wait to go see them.

Óðinn has been coming into work with me the whole week. I hate to admit that he's spending most of his time playing an online Star Wars game but he's also very helpful - in the morning when we come into the office he opens the doors and turns on the lights and the women working on my floor have been coming in to see him and talk to him and one just came in earlier saying how beautifully he sings because although he's on the computer he's singing the whole time and making up songs about the game.

Right, I couldn't overcome my "home"sickness and booked a flight to Edinburgh later this week for a long weekend. Mostly because even though I will be going to Ed in July it's only for my graduation and I suspect most of my friends will be away on summer holiday. My causin is coming with me in July and we are going onwards to London after the graduation and hopefully to Rome as well. My graduation celebration :)

I'm also going to Copenhagen late May for a (hopefully) really interesting conference :) Very related to my work and my studies so pretty pleased woman here.

Government Elections in Iceland are coming up, they will be on the 12th of May which happens to be both my dad's birthday and mine and Eurovision as well. Not that Eurovision is such a big deal but I usually watch it anyway this year I'm guessing the elections will be more interesting. Too bad I don't find any of the parties worth voting for. But I'll pick one at the end I always do.

Hélt ég yrði ekki eldri á laugardagsmorguninn þar sem mér leið svo illa en viti menn ég varð hitalaus með deginum og skellti mér út að borða um kvöldið með Siggu Dóru og Línu. Við fórum á japanskan veitingastað Bonsai
sem var mjög góður og ekki var hann dýr. Við kíktum svo á pöbba á eftir og enduðum á Greyfriar's Bobby bar sem er með Tartan gólfteppi. Mjög smekklegt. Ég var nú svo hálf lufsuleg í nótt og morgun en reif mig upp og fór með Óðin og Ian vin hans í Dynamic Earth þar sem við kynntumst sögu jarðarinnar. Var alveg ágætt en Óðinn var pínu hræddur því það var hristingur og hávaði og læti en mér fannst þetta kannski ekki eins tilkomumikið og ég hafð væntingar um.

Svo fór ég aftur út að borða í kvöld á Jamaiskan (hef ekki hugmynd um það hvernig maður segir þetta) veitingastað Coyoba, sem mér skilst að sé sá eini sinnar tegundar í Skotlandi. Mjög fínn matur, tilefnið var afmæli Erinar vinkonu og það var aldeilis fjölþjóðlegur hópur samankominn við borðið, ég frá Íslandi, Erin frá Englandi, tvær frá Spáni, einn frá Jamaíka, tvær pólskar, tvær frá Þýskalandi og önnur þeirra Kúrdi í þokkabót. Vantaði bara skota.

Jæja, í dag skilaði ég inn lokaverkefninu. Óneitanlega mikill léttir. Ég þarf svo að verja ritgerðina einhvern tíma síðustu vikuna mína hérna og vonandi mun það bara ganga vel enda ekki ástæða til að ætla annað. Nú þarf ég að snúa mér að því að hugsa um nemendur mína og huga að því að flytja heim... GVÖÐ ég er sko farin að hlakka til :) bara 20 dagar en þangað til ætla ég að njóta borgarinnar sem ég er í - hún er svo frábær!!

Litli maðurinn er veikur í dag... er svo heppin að eiga góða að sem aðstoðuðu mig við að koma ritgerðinni inn, Igor prentaði hana út á laser og kom með hana upp í skóla í dag og Sigga Dóra kom og sat hjá Óðni meðan ég fór og lét binda inn og skilaði. Reyndar kom Katrín í morgun og ætlaði að redda mér en þá var Igor ekki kominn upp í skóla með útprentið fyrir mig ... fór í staðinn í búðina og keypti kók og snakk handa sjúklingnum. Hann hefur ekki mikla matarlyst þessi elska.

Verðum heima á morgun líka svo hann nái þessu nú er sér.
